(Author Interview)

1. Where do you write from?

I write on a personal computer almost 90% of the time. :P The rest I do on my laptop. I just gotta have my personal space and it always has to be the same spot, otherwise I just can't get into the story. I'm just weird like that.

2. When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?

I never really realized it, it was just always there. I mean, I wrote stories back when I could first pick up a pen and made my first little booklet when I was 6. I never stopped writing actually :P (I also finished a couple of novels in my teen years so yeah, I don't think I ever wanted to be anything but a writer haha).

3. How long does it take you to write a book?

It takes me about a month or so to write a complete book, but it depends on the length of course. Some books are 50000 words, others are 70000 or 90000, so when the length increases, the days I need also increase. :P But it's about 4 weeks usually. That doesn't include the time to edit, though ;)

4. Where do you get your information or ideas for your books?

I often get inspiration from songs and movies, which then spark an idea in my head, like a seed that suddenly blooms into all directions. I can't even explain it, but it always feels like it comes out of nowhere. :P

5. When did you write your first book and how old were you?

I wrote my first complete novel (60000 words) at the age of about 14. However, I did write a 30000 words novella at the age of 11. It was just the stories that had to pour out of me, sort of speak. :P I always knew this is what I was meant to do.

6. What do you like to do when you're not writing?

I LOVE playing video games, like RPG's and World of Warcraft. Funny thing is, I even met my hubby on World of Warcraft. :P I know, unbelievable.

7. What Genre do you write?

I wrote in a few different genres. Mostly dark romance, but I also dabble in New Adult Romance and Contemporary Romance (sometimes with a hint of comedy in them). I just like to write whatever comes to mind. :)

My latest book was Ruin, which is an emotional romance based on a true story.

8. How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?

Umm ... that's a tough one, because I don't know how many there are from the head, but I think more than 25 now. :P My favorite still is Mr. X, hands down! I just love this badass hitman more than anything. You can check it out here: http://bit.ly/mrxamazon

9. Do you hear from your readers much? What kinds of things do they say?

Yes! Often they'd reply on my facebook posts and sometimes I get these awesome emails from readers telling me how much they loved my books and they want more. It always gives me the good chills, if you know what I mean. ;) That's what I do it for.

10. As a child, what did you want to do when you grew up?

Writer! :P

11. Tell us about your current project.

I'm currently writing a book called WICKED BRIDE GAMES, which is set to publish January 10th, 2017. It's about nine ladies competing for three men, and it's hot, dirty, kinky, twisted and all kinds of taboo. Lots of darkness and dubious stuff basically. ;)

You can preorder it here: http://bit.ly/wickedbridegamesitunes

12. How do you handle writers block?

When I don't know what to write, I almost always turn to music for help. I can spend a whole day listening to songs on youtube, trying to find the perfect one that'll get me in the mood. Alternatively, a good movie often helps too. ;)

13. What one subject is TABOO in your writing?

You mean what I would never write? I'd say necrophilia or beastiality, for obvious reasons. :P Other than that ... not a lot.

14. If there was one book you wish you'd written, which would it be?

Fifty Shades of Grey. :D Also for obvious reasons! (Or maybe Harry Potter, but that's because it's my all time favorite series. :P)

15. What is your biggest pet peeve?

Overdone tropes. :P

16. Is there one current tv show that is a "can't miss" for you?

YES! I have a few, actually. Mr. Robot, Breaking Bad, Wayward Pines, Game of Thrones (obviously) and How To Get Away With Murder.

17. Who was your greatest influence?

J.K. Rowling, because when I was young I always said I wanted to be like her.
A second person who's also been of great influence is Lauren DeStefano. It's because of her that I started to believe in my own writing again, where I decided that I wasn't going to let my stories sit on my computer forever, and actually make steps to publish them.

18. How do you choose your book covers?

I make them myself and I usually base my decisions on the feel of the book and what I'm trying to portray, as well as comparing multiple versions to each other. The best one wins. :P

19. Something personal about you people may be surprised to know?

I am a lefty, I am dutch, and I have Aspergers. :D
